Abode Mind Builders

...building a new Nigeria in you!

Fellow citizen,

we have been wondering lately where most of the songs we learnt and sang in primary schools are?
If you visit any primary school now, you are likely to witness alot of change in style and a reflection of how we have almost totaly westernised our educational system without recourse to our traditional values..

Wayback in primary school, we were thought a song and we sang the song with alot of pride in our nation's agricultural prowess and culture. In this same nation, we were proud young farmers and were very happy about it. The short song in yoruba goes thus:

Ise agbe, ise ile wa, eni kosise ama jale.
Iwe kiko, laisi oko ati ada ko i pe o, ko i pe o.

In English it means that agriculture is our culture.
No education is complete without cutlass and hoe.

The song though literarily could be seen as anachronistic but from a phylosophical paradigm, it means that regardless of our education we need to be self sustaining in terms of food production and we as a people need to be hardworking.

Lets bring back the pride. Nigeria will get there.

Ayo Moses says so!!!
